Activity Groups
At times FDAMH hosts a number of activity and educational groups to promote recovery by helping people develop new skills and interests, make new friends and increase confidence and self regard. Currently the following groups are available:
|
Allsorts Women’s Group
This group meets on a Thursday morning from 11am – 1.30pm at the Drop-in Centre. Group members take part in a range of activities and social events such as arts and crafts, ‘beauty days’, and alternative therapies. However, you can also come along just to get involved in the chat and have a coffee! You can attend the group for as long as you like. See the link on the right for the most recent programme of events.
The Media Group
This art group is supported by Community Education and meets in the Victoria Centre on a Thursday morning. It has been involved in a wide variety of projects such as photography, film making, creative writing and art projects. All members of the group are supported and encouraged to improve their existing skills and develop new skills at a pace dictated by them. Why not consider coming along and finding out more about this exciting group.
Next Steps Course
This course, run by Forth Valley College and FDAMH staff, is designed specifically for those who have experienced mental health problems. The course aims to help individuals increase their self confidence and introduce small, positive changes into their life thereby planning their ‘Next Step’. The course offers participants the opportunity to gain a recognised SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority) qualification.
Craft Group
This group takes place on Tuesday afternoons, 1pm to 3pm, at the Victoria Centre. Anyone wishing to attend should contact Jane Shirra on 01324 671612.
