Dropin LeafDrop-In Centre

Our Drop-In Centre offers a friendly, supportive and safe place for people to come along and have a chat and a coffee or to participate in a variety of activities. Should you wish to discuss any worries or concerns then you can do so on a one-to-one basis with either Jacquie our Drop-in project leader or a member of our staff. There will always be someone around to spend time with you whatever your concerns!

How the Centre Works

The Drop-In Centre is open to people aged 16+ living in the Falkirk District who are experiencing or recovering from mental health problems.

No referral is necessary: we operate an open-door policy so you are welcome to come along and start using the Centre whenever you wish. If you feel shy about simply dropping by then you can contact us to arrange your first visit: you can bring a friend or relative with you. We will make sure that someone is available to show you around and introduce you to others. There is no limit on how long you can continue to use the drop-in and our opening hours are given below.

Drop-in is open from 10am to 4pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday: from 1.30 until 4pm on Thursday (sorry guys but our women’s group takes place in the drop in centre on Thursday mornings) and from 10am to 3pm on Fridays. We are also opened on Saturday afternoons from 2pm to 5pm so there is plenty of scope for coming along and spending time with us!

The Centre is very much service user led and focussed. You will have the opportunity to join in with a variety of activities such as pool, darts, games, arts and crafts, quizzes, discussion groups or the occasional day trip! If you don’t want to become involved in any of these activities then there is always the opportunity to simply sit and chat with others.

Our drop-in service users have devised their own set of rules that explain what is expected of both service users and the FDAMH staff. These simple rules ensure that drop-in continues to be a happy place for all who use it. You can also attend the monthly service user led meeting but there is no pressure on you to do so. We just like the idea of trying to get everyone involved in what goes on within the Centre!

“My confidence has improved so much since I started to attend the Drop-In Centre. There is always a member of staff to talk to when I’m feeling down and I have made new friends

”If it wasn’t for the support and encouragement I received at the Drop-In I would still be sitting at home on my own.

“Since coming to the Drop-In Centre I have made lots of friends and now have a social life.
