Information Services

FDAMH's Information Service exists to support service users, FDAMH staff, people in the Falkirk area with mental health problems and their carers to find the information they need about a wide variety of mental health issues, support services, facilities and groups. We place a strong emphasis on what is accessible to you locally. We can provide you directly with a wide variety of information or give you good starting points for your own online research.

The Information Service is made up of the following:

1. InTouch Falkirk Database
This can currently be accessed at FDAMH and holds details of a wide variety of locally accessible organisations. It covers many agencies working in mental health but also includes services involved in a range of other areas - for example work, education, health and leisure. Key national help lines are also listed, particularly where comparative local services are not available.
2. FDAMH Library
The library consists of a wide range of mental health related information. Access to the library is available to service users and staff and may be provided on request to other individuals.
3. Information Requests
FDAMH endeavours to provide an information requests service, whereby assistance will be provided to those looking for mental health related information or local services should this be required.

Volunteers
The information service relies on help from volunteers and we would be happy to hear from anyone interested in volunteering for this service, particulary if they like to use computers or have an interest in helping to catalogue and care for our library.

If you are visiting FDAMH please ask to speak to the Information Worker or request access to any of our listed Information Services. Please note the Information Worker is only available part time, however other staff will help you wherever possible and can provide access to InTouch Falkirk.
