Carer? Extra clinics to get your flu vaccine

NHS Forth Valley would like to remind you that if you care for someone who is elderly or disabled, both you and the person you care for should receive a flu vaccination every year.

Carers who are fit and well can carry the flu virus without displaying any signs or symptoms and unknowingly pass it on to the person they care for.

As well as providing the vaccination through your GP or pharmacist, this year three additional vaccination clinics specifically aimed at Carers have been made available. These sessions will be free to all who receive a carer’s allowance, or are the main carer for an elderly or disabled person.

The venues and times for the vaccination programme are as follows:

22/12/15 09:30 to 12:30 Mears Independent Living Services. Hillfoots Business Village, Alva, FK12 5DQ
22/12/15 13:00 to 17:00 Newcarron Court Nursing Home. Ronades Road, Falkirk, FK2 7TB
23/12/15 09:00 to 12:30 Blackwood Care Home. 42 Broom Court, St Ninians, Stirling, FK7 7UN

Please call 01786 457 257 or email and let NHS staff know if you are planning to attend. You can also just turn up on the day — there is no need to bring anything with you or to have booked an appointment.
