Funding Award from the Creative Breaks Fund

Our Third Age Befriending (TAB) Project and Family Support/Carers Project will both be benefiting from funds awarded by Shared Care Scotland’s Creative Breaks Fund! The money will be used to support the day-to-day work of the TAB project and will help to deliver further Mindfulness Training courses to carers.

Money for the Creative Breaks Fund is provided by the Scottish Government and in total the programme has awarded just over £1 million to 63 projects from Orkney to the Scottish Borders, which will collectively benefit more than 4500 carers and their families.

This is the third year of the Creative Breaks programme which was established in 2011 by the Scottish Government and is administered by carers’ charity Shared Care Scotland. The aim of the fund is to increase the range and choice of short breaks opportunities for carers of adults, kinship carers, young carers and the people they care for. The fund pays for the development of new services that create opportunities for carers and their families to meet friends and enjoy leisure activities together or possibly for families to enjoy a much-needed family break away together.
