Make It Happen, part of the Older people’s Forum in Falkirk, had their first AGM on 2nd Februaruy in Forth Valley’s Sensory Centre. We were pleased to be invited to the event, to talk about the wide variety of services we provide and the volunteering opportunities we offer.
Armed with a box of leaflets and information, staff members Julie Law, Michele Reap and Morag Fullard delivered a talk about the benefits of staying mentally healthy in today’s busy environment to an audience of around 40 Forum members and partnership organisations.
Other organisations attending the event included: Living It Up, Age Scotland, Braveheart, Outside The Box, the Later Life Information Centre and Falkirk’s Anti Social Behaviour Helpline (ASB Helpline). As always, people are staggered at the amount of help, support and training we can provide to individuals and other organisations. Such was the interest we have received a number of invitations to deliver talks to other community groups and we dealt with a whole range of enquiries ranging from our Training Academy provision to individual support needs.
FDAMH would like to thank Kay Wood, Make It Happen’s Development Officer, for the kind invitation and continued support.
