You may have noticed the appearance of ‘The Social Spark’ amongst our services!
The Social Spark has brought together two long standing services at FDAMH – Befriending and Third Age Befriending.
Thanks to three years of new funding from the Big Lottery, and with help from the Integrated Care Fund, we are now able to develop our traditional befriending services to provide an enhanced range of supports to people not only in Falkirk District but also further afield in other areas of Forth Valley.
The Social Spark is aimed at people aged 16 years and over who may be experiencing loneliness and isolation due to poor mental health. The service offers activity groups, small social contact groups and inter-generational groups along with our traditional one-to-one befriending and a buddy scheme.
Information regarding the full range of services which Social Spark provides can be found on The Social Spark page of our website.
The Social Spark team consist of: Michele Reap (Temporary Manager), Olivia Wilson (Coordinator) and Angie Bell (Assistant Coordinator).
The team say….
“We are very excited about our new service The Social Spark. Thanks to the funding from The Big Lottery and the Integrated Care Fund we will now be able to reach many more people who will be able to benefit from the services and hopefully become more engaged within their local community.”
