Plenty to get involved in at the See Me Roadshow

Thank you to everyone who took the time to attend the see me roadshow on Friday 4th July 2014 in Stirling. Our Service User and Carer Involvement Co-ordinator, Linda McGonigle, was delighted by the number of people who came along from FDAMH to take part.

See me kicked off with an update on the re-founded programme and their event in June – Movement for Change. Participants had the opportunity to take part in workshops on Change Networks or Community Champions, after which people from the local areas got together to look at their priorities for tackling stigma. This was an excellent activity which generated much discussion about the different areas of life where stigma is experienced. Feedback was largely positive, with participants feeling listened to and involved.

The event raised awareness of the see me programme and the grants that will be available to help tackle stigma. One idea will be to dust off FDAMH’s play on stigma ‘We are All Bobby’ and take a re-invigorated production out and about. If anyone has any other ideas for projects to tackle stigma in Falkirk plehere and for copies of the report on this event in Stirling please contact Linda at FDAMH.
