FDAMH’s Befriending Team – Sandra, Julie and Michele

FDAMH is delighted to announce new 3-year funding from BIG Lottery, through their Improving Lives Funding. The generous award of £264,363 in total will allow us to build on our existing Befriending services and expand our Social Connectedness work throughout Falkirk and Forth Valley. Top up funding has also been provided for this year by the Integrated Care Fund, for which we are also very grateful.

This funding will help us tackle the negative impact of isolation and loneliness through providing a range of social contact groups and activity groups along with one-to-one work with adults of all ages who are experiencing reduced mental wellbeing or recovering from mental ill health.

These activities allow people to reconnect with their interests and their community. It helps them to find their feet again by improving confidence and reducing anxiety.

We would like to thank our BIG funding officer, Michael Phillip, and all the staff at BIG for their ongoing support and generous award. This multi-year funding has secured the future of this valued service over the next 3 years ensuring we can continue to deliver high quality services to local people.

We would also like to thank all the people that regularly buy Lottery tickets. It’s great to know that their ticket money is helping people within their own community.
