Situated on the first floor of Callendar House, the Tea room is a large, light and airy space with spectacular views over Callendar Park.
The menu includes light lunches of sandwiches and side salads and a choice of soups, with some wonderful additions from historical recipes, such as “clapshot”. The scones and cakes are particularly good and they offer a wide selection of teas and coffees. Prices are competitive and the location and setting really adds to the atmosphere. It’s a very family friendly place, with a wide range of customers.
Members of our Third Age Befriending group visited and said this:
Olive says: “The chicken sandwiches were delicious. They were presented beautifully on the plate, with lots of mixed salad leaves. There was too much for me to finish. The staff are very friendly, so polite! I’d definitely go back. The prices were reasonable, too.”
Mary thought that: “The soup was lovely, just the right size. What lovely views out to the gardens. It’s a beautiful room. The choice on the menu is great, really nice and you can still get a roll and sausage! Lots of space, as well. I’d really recommend this. Can we come back again?”
Denise said; “Yes, the food was great. The soup was delicious and your scone looked good, Julie! Staff are friendly, too.”
Jacquie said:” This is a nice place to come. It’s ideal for bringing friends to, really nice. I thought the food was excellent and a fair price too. You could spend all day in the house and park and have a great lunch here.”
General marks out of ten saw the Callendar House Tea Rooms score a whopping 9/10. Well done!
