Welcome Cafe seeks Volunteers

Smiley Coffee Cup

You may have read a previous story about FDAMH’s Welcome Cafe scheme. Inspired by a project in Manchester, we’re working to encourage simple everyday connections in our community with the help of enthusiastic local cafes and restaurants. If you’d like to find out more, including which cafes have joined the scheme, click the new Welcome Cafe icon on our front page!

We’re also really keen to develop volunteers to support this community-based project. If you like the sound of dropping in on local cafes in the scheme to keep them up-to-date with materials, ideas and a bit of encouragement then please get in touch! Visit our volunteering pages to find out more.

Welcome Cafe

Have you seen our Welcome Cafe campaign? The campaign is aimed at reducing isolation and loneliness by providing a table top sign at cafes that can be placed on the table if a person is happy to have someone join them.

We are thrilled with the amount of local cafes and companies who have signed up to take part and hope that many more will participate and encourage people to have a friendly blether.

So next time you’re out on your own why not look for a ‘Welcome Cafe’? And if you’re a cafe owner then just get in touch with Jim Thompson at FDAMH to find out more!
