FDAMH launches New Introductory Mental Health Awareness Training
We are delighted to be offering a 3-hour course that will help to educate people in our community about mental health. The course introduces the concept of mental health and some common mental health problems; it also covers discrimination, the importance of awareness in supporting people experiencing reduced wellbeing, and where to seek additional support. Football and Tackling Recovery
Are you interested in keeping fit, football and tackling recovery?
Tackling Recovery is a six week pilot programme aimed at helping people aged 18 and over with their recovery from mental ill health. It is delivered by Stenhousemuir Football Club in partnership with Tryst Community Sports Club and Falkirk Association for Health (FDAMH).
The 6 week pilot programme will be delivered by Stenhousemuir Football Club coaches. The project will have exclusive use of Ochilview Park at all delivery times and the pilot programme will be delivered as follows:
Week 1: Welcome to the club and Tackling Recovery. Physical fitness and health and wellbeing benchmark measurements and small sided games
Week 2: Coaching
Week 3: Coaching session themed on shooting/finishing and then small sided games and workshop delivery — Adopting a healthy lifestyle.
Week 4: Coaching session themed on dribbling and 1v1s. Workshop delivery — Goal Setting
Week 5: Participant choice of coaching session theme and/or small sided games
Week 6: Small sided games tournament and re-measurement of outcomes. Feedback to/from the group and what next?.

FDAMH launches Certificate in Counselling Skills Course
We are really excited to be offering COSCA’s (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland) Certificate in Counselling Skills. The course will be taking place at the Victoria Centre in evenings, running from September 2014 to June 2015. The Certificate in Counselling Skills is useful and practical and is for anybody who wants to improve their understanding of other people as well as themselves. The course is also seen as a platform to further study for those wishing to train to become a professional counsellor.
