Our group programme has developed in response to the people who use our services. Where some people have wanted one-to-one support, others expressed a strong preference from the outset for enjoying group activities with their peers. In some cases people start out with a one-to-one service to help build confidence and then move on to enjoy the group setting.
Stepping On Groups
Popular monthly, supported lunch and day-trip groups providing great opportunities for a good blether and a chance to get out and about with new friends.
These groups are supported by The Social Spark staff and volunteers.
Tea and a Blether Groups
These groups meet monthly or fortnightly, meeting up in local café’s for either a light lunch or just a tea and a wee cake. These groups are supported by volunteers.
Any excuse to get the glad rags on, this is a group of people who join together to enjoy live events in the local area, including music and theatre. This group is supported by the Social Spark Team and volunteers. When we have events planned you’ll be able to see them listed in the programmes below.
We love the exchange of knowledge and skills that goes on in this group which is supported by a great team of volunteers. It’s open to people who have enjoyed fishing in the past and those who would like to give it a try, and gives a lovely opportunity to get out and enjoy some time in the outdoors with good company!
Sunday Lunch Group
When some of the people who use our services explained what a tough day Sunday can be, we decided to start a Sunday Lunch Group. The group meets monthly at local venues.
Creative Women’s Group
Running in short-term blocks, this group offers a women-only group in community settings where women can socialise and enjoy a variety of creative activities together – from art and crafts to creative writing.
