Groups with The Social Spark

Our groups are lively and fun, and we have the added benefit of trained, qualified volunteer drivers who can help us turn the groups’ ideas for outings into reality! We also have great relationships with staff at local attractions who are always very good to us, which all adds up to help ensure everyone gets the most from their day.

Our group programme has developed in response to the people who use our services. Where some people have wanted one-to-one support, others expressed a strong preference from the outset for enjoying group activities with their peers. In some cases people start out with a one-to-one service to help build confidence and then move on to enjoy the group setting.

Social Sparks

Social get-togethers in a variety of settings!

Tea and a Blether Groups

These groups meet monthly or fortnightly, meeting up in local café’s for either a light lunch or just a tea and a wee cake. These groups are supported by volunteers.

Bright Sparks

Activity-focused groups to inspire you and help you find new interests or re-discover old ones! Our groups change in response to what people tell us they would like to do, but the list below shows our most regular offerings.

Fishing Group

We love the exchange of knowledge and skills that goes on in this group which is supported by a great team of volunteers. It’s open to people who have enjoyed fishing in the past and those who would like to give it a try, and gives a lovely opportunity to get out and enjoy some time in the outdoors with good company!

Sunday Lunch Group

When some of the people who use our services explained what a tough day Sunday can be, we decided to start a Sunday Lunch Group. The group meets monthly at local venues.

Creative Women’s Group

Running in short-term blocks, this group offers a women-only group in community settings where women can socialise and enjoy a variety of creative activities together – from art and crafts to creative writing.
