Become a Volunteer

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has”

(Margaret Mead)

We are in no doubt that without the contribution of our volunteers FDAMH would not be able to offer the range of services that we do!

Our volunteers, young and older, come from all walks of life. As a FDAMH volunteer you’ll receive great training and support to make sure you are successful in your role. You might even find you learn and develop skills that help you in everday life and work. And you can be confident that you are joining a great volunteering organisation as FDAMH has achieved the UK ‘Investing in Volunteers’ Standard.

In return for giving us some of your time we can offer you the opportunity to meet new people, enhance your skill base and make a significant difference to other people’s lives. You need only devote a couple of hours of your time and any expenses you incur will be reimbursed.

If you are over 18 and think that you would be interested in joining us then please complete the application form (see boxed links) or if you want further information then give us a call on 01324 671600.

Current Volunteering Opportunities

We have been thrilled with offers of help from people in our community during the current COVID-19 situation. A great many of our volunteers provide valuable roles supporting groups and initiatives in community settings and normally we are constantly recruiting and training people for these roles. However opportunities for new volunteers in these areas are limited just now and we are currently only taking applications for the specific roles listed below.

If none of these roles are appropriate or of interest, we’d still like to thank you for your interest in volunteering with FDAMH – please do keep an eye on this page and our social media to be notified when new opportunities open that you might want to apply for.

Do you have skills and enthusiasm to help our organisation thrive and continue its highly-respected support for the mental wellbeing of our community? FDAMH’s Trustees meet every two months (Wednesday evenings) and lend their expertise to the strategic development of the organisation.
